The yesterday in today – the today in tomorrow: portraits of time.. We have recognized: whether there may be a political shift to the right, a growing, emancipatory discourse, climate concerns or increasing terror, we are asked not only to be aware, but to act. Either prophetic or not: the signs of the times are pointing towards protest and a request for justice. Whoever takes part in the event, is eventually reacting!

Das Gestern im Heute – das Heute im Morgen: Portraits der Zeit.. Wir haben erkannt: Ob Rechtsruck, erstarkender emanzipatorischer Diskurs, größere Klimasorgen oder zunehmender Terror, wir sind gefragt, nicht mehr nur nachzuspüren und zu erkennen, sondern auch zu handeln. Ob Prophetisch oder nicht: Die aktuellen Zeichen der Zeit stehen eindeutig auf Protest und ein Ansinnen auf Gerechtigkeit. Wer am Geschehen noch Anteilnahme nimmt, noch spürt, der reagiert auch!

What winners receive

Winners will be published in the 12th Issue of HANT — Magazin für Fotografie. They receive a free copy of the magazine and if present a warm handshake on our release party in mid October.

What is HANT - Magazin für Fotografie?

HANT is a young magazine for photography. In the sparse Thuringian landscape with only few platforms for photography, we are searching for undiscovered photographs. We want to collect the few grains of sand in the desert of photography, in order to make them visible for a greater publicity. For us, photography is like a journey by enabling us to collect memories of past moments.

What's behind the magazine?

The publisher of the magazine is FOTOINIT e.V., an association and platform for contemporary photography, which pursues the sustainable promotion and presentation of photographic diversity. Since 2012, the photography landscape in Central Germany has been established through lectures, workshops and exhibitions. The platform for photography extends far beyond the borders of Thuringia and connects the artistic potential of people who share one passion: photography. The HANT — Magazin für Fotografie appears every twelve months and invites you to participate via an open call for entries .

In addition, the members of the Fotoinit e.V. represent the platform at national and international network events, such as trade fairs and photography festivals.

FOTOINIT e.V. and the HANT magazine for photography won the "Bildungspreis" of the German Society for Photography (2014), the first prize of the photokina academy Award (2014) and the Lead Award (2016) for its extensive commitment

Jury

The Jury is made of the editorial team of the HANT - Magazin.

1. Who can participate? Everyone can send in his/her work!

2. What can I send to the HANT-Magazine? 1 – 15 photos or single photos and/or 2 texts

3. How can I submit my work? Photos: For the upcoming 12th edition you need to submit your projects via Picter. Register via Picter.com and follow the instructions on the website.

4. Is there a theme? Yes, the theme of the tenth issue is called »sign of the times«.

5. Limitations Photos: The submitted photographs must fulfill the following technical terms: minimum Length: 4000 pixels, max. 7000px NO WATERMARK - Print quality

Possible file formats for images are: JPG, JPEG Name (recommendation): NAME_TITLE-01.jpg

Texts: The texts must contain at least 160 signs and up to 2000 signs AND need to be submitted via hant-magazin.de. Format: DOC, DOCX, TXT, RTF, ODT, PAGES, PDF File Photographs and texts that do not fulfill the above mentioned conditions can not be taken into consideration.
