El Premio Peabody de Fotografía y Reel 2021 está abierto a fotógrafos de todo el mundo. En esta primera edición, la temática con la que se convoca es la comida.

La comida es esencial para la vida de todos los seres vivos en el planeta, pero también determina la forma en la que los seres humanos se relacionan entre sí.

El premio consta de cuatro categorías:

- 1 La Comida en las Calles.

Fotografías que reflejan escenas de comida callejera en pueblos y ciudades de todo el mundo.

- 2 La Comida en los Hogares.

Fotografías que registren escenas de comida en la privacidad de los hogares de todo el mundo.

- 3 Infusiones.

Fotografías acerca de la pasión por el café, el té y el mate. Fotografías del consumo de las infusiones así como también de la producción.

- 4 Reels.

Videos de hasta 30 segundos de duración en formato vertical cuyos temas estén relacionados con la comida, tanto con la preparación como su consumo y producción en la naturaleza

Quiénes Somos

Peabody es una marca de la empresa Goldmund S.A, situada en Argentina. Fundada por DO SUN CHOI de nacionalidad coreana, en plena crisis económica del 2001. Si bien es común pensar que en una crisis no es un buen momento para emprender un proyecto, en coreano la palabra “crisis” también significa “oportunidad”. Así, reafirmando sus raíces, Goldmund aprovechó la oportunidad que muchos temían tomar y creó un nuevo concepto en electrodomésticos para el mercado argentino, basado en diseño y calidad, ofreciéndole al consumidor una alternativa nueva y diferente. Peabody no solo es una marca de electrodomésticos, es diseño al servicio de los usuarios. Calidad, Diseño e Innovación son los tres pilares que constituyen su esencia, otorgándole un posicionamiento diferente. Sus lineales de productos basados en estos ejes es lo que le han permitido diferenciarse no solo en el mercado argentino, sino que también en países como Uruguay, Paraguay y Bolivia y posicionarse en el top of mind de los clientes más exigentes. Peabody mira su entorno constantemente buceando nuevas formas de agregarle confort a su universo. Por ello, hoy decide innovar creando el “Premio Peabody a la Fotografía”, resaltando la cultura de cada país, ampliando sus intereses y dándose a conocer frente al resto del mundo. Pero, sobre todo, interesándose sobre cómo el mundo vive, siente y experimenta los diferentes sabores de la vida misma.

Jurados

Marina Oybin

Es periodista especializada en arte. Egresada de la UBA y de la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Prilidiano Pueyrredón - Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA), realizó el Postgrado en Opinión Pública y Medios de Comunicación en la Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO). Desde hace 20 años escribe sobre arte y temas culturales. Trabajó en la Universidad de Bologna, en Clarín durante diez años y en tevé. Hoy escribe en La Nación, Radar y en Le Monde Diplomatique. Hace además una columna de arte en el programa Los 7 locos en la Televisión Pública. Realizó coberturas en Argentina y en el exterior. Entrevistó a grandes artistas de la escena local e internacional. En 2019, moderó la entrevista pública con Julio Le Parc en el Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes.

Rodrigo Abd.

Fotógrafo staff de la agencia Associated Press. Ha trabajado en reportajes especiales cubriendo la agitación política en Bolivia en 2003 y Haití en 2004. También cubrió las elecciones presidenciales de Venezuela en 2007 y 2012, y el terremoto en Haití en 2010. Ha estado integrado en las tropas estadounidenses en la provincia de Kandahay, Afganistán. En 2011 cubrió el conflicto político en Libia. En 2012 cubrió el conflicto armado sirio. Abd, junto con otros fotógrafos de AP, recibieron el Premio Pulitzer 2013 por Fotografía de Noticias por su apasionante trabajo sobre la guerra civil siria. Actualmente vive y trabaja en Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Domin Choi

Domin Choi actualmente dicta clases en la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la UBA, en la Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA) y en la Fundación Universidad del Cine (FUC). Fue miembro fundador de la revista Km 111 y dirigió una colección de cine en la editorial Santiago Arcos. Es autor de los libros Transiciones del Cine y El Fin de lo Nuevo, Un panorama aleatorio del cine contemporáneo, entre otros.

El concurso convoca a fotógrafos de todo el mundo al Premio Peabody de Fotografía y Reel.
Ésta será la primera edición de un premio anual cuya temática se renovará año tras año.
En esta convocatoria el tema es la comida.

Quien se puede inscribir?
El concurso está abierto a todo el público en general que sea mayor de 18 años. Se puede participar desde cualquier parte del mundo.

La fecha de inscripcion es desde el dia 10 de Septiembre de 2021 hasta el 10 de Marzo de 2022 inclusive

Con cuantas fotos puedo participar?
Cada participante podrá participar con cuatro fotos por categoría como máximo y con cuatro reels para la categoría de reels.

Cual es la Plataforma de inscripción?
La Plataforma es Picter. Cada participante deberá inscribirse en la Plataforma y seguir los pasos de la convocatoria.

Cuando se anuncian los ganadores?
El día 13 de Marzo de 2022 se anunciará a los finalistas de las 3 categorias de fotografia y de la categoria de reel.
Y el dia 17 de Marzo de 2022 se anunciarán los ganadores.

Cuales son los premios?
Por cada categoria hay un premio de usd1000 para el primer lugar y de usd350 para el segundo lugar

Con que tipo de fotografias puedo mandar?
Las fotografías pueden haber sido realizadas con cámaras de cualquier tipo o con teléfonos celulares. No se aceptarán fotografías manipuladas o puestas en escena de ningún tipo. La convocatoria es para fotografías de toma directa que no hayan sido manipuladas o alteradas digitalmente sus contenidos.

Con que tipo de reels puedo participar?
Todo reel o video breve que tenga relación con la comida.
Los reels deberán estar producidos en formato vertical con una duración maxima de 30 segundos

Cuando se informan los ganadores?
El dia 13 de Marzo de 2022 se publicará la lista de finalistas y el 17 de Marzo se anunciarán los ganadores de cada categoría

El Jurado este año estará compuesto por:

About the Contest

Is open to photographers from all around the world. In this first edition focuses on the theme of food. Food is essential for the life of all living beings but it also determines the way that human beings relate to each other.

The award has four categories:

• 1 Food in the Streets. Photographs that reflect street food scenes in towns and cities around the world.
• 2 Food at Home. Photographs that record scenes of food in the privacy of homes around the world.
• 3 Infusions. Photographs that document the passion for coffee tea and Mate infusions. photographs of the consumption of the infusions and also of the production.
• 4 Reels. Short Videos of up to 30 seconds duration in vertical format whose themes are related to food both with the preparation of food, its consumption and production and reels that pose the relationship between food and nature will also be accepted.

Our Company

Peabody is a brand of the company Goldmund S.A., based in Argentina. Founded by DO SUN CHOI of Korean nationality, in the middle of the economic crisis of 2001.
It is common to think that a crisis is not a good time to undertake a project, however, in Korean the word “crisis” also means “opportunity”.

Jurors

Marina Oybin is a journalist specializing in art. She is a graduate of the University of Buenos Aires and from the National School of Fine Arts Prilidiano Pueyrredón- National University of the Arts (UNA). She completed a postgraduate degree in public opinion and media in The Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO). She has been writing about arts and culture for 20 years. She worked at the University of Bologna, at Clarín for ten years, and in television. Today she writes for La Nación, Radar and Le Monde Diplomatique. She is also a correspondent on the arts for the program Los 7 locos on Televisión Pública. She has covered events in Argentina and abroad and she has interviewed great artists in both the local and international scene. In 2019, she moderated the public interview with Julio Le Parc at the National Museum of Fine Arts.

Rodrigo Abd is a staff photographer for the Associated Press. He has worked on AP special assignments covering the political turmoil in Bolivia in 2003 and Haiti in 2004. He also covered Venezuela's presidential elections in 2007 and 2012, and the earthquake in Haiti in 2010. In 2010, he has twice been embedded with US troops in the Kandahar province, Afghanistan. In 2011 he covered the political conflict in Lybia. In 2012 he covered the Syrian armed conflict. Abd, along with fellow AP photographers, Manu Brabo, Narciso Contreras, Khalil Hamra, and Muhammed Muheisen, were awarded the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photograph for his gripping work covering the Syrian civil war. Currently based in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Domin Choi is a professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), at the National University of the Arts (UNA), and at the Fundación Universidad del Cine (FUC). He was a founding member of the Magazine Km 111 and directed a film collection at the Santiago Arcos publishing house. He is the author of books Transitions of Cinema, The End of the New and A Random Panorama of Contemporary Cinema, among others.

The contest brings together photographers from around the world to the Peabody Award for Photography and Reel Contest. This will be the first edition of an annual award whose theme is renewed year after year. In this call, the theme is food.

What kind of photographs can I send with?
The photographs may have been taken with cameras of any kind or with cell phones. Manipulated or staged photographs of any kind will not be accepted. The call is for direct-shot photographs that have not been manipulated or digitally altered their contents.

With what type of reels can I participate?
Any reel or short video that has to do with food. The reels must be produced in vertical format with a maximum duration of 30 seconds.

When are the winners announced?
On March 13, 2022, the list of finalists will be published and on March 17, 2022 the winners of each category will be announced.
