About

Magnum Photos is a co-operative owned and run by its members/photographers. They meet once a year during the last weekend in June to discuss the organization’s affairs. One day of the meeting is set aside for looking at and voting on potential new members' portfolios.

Successful applicants will be invited to become a "Nominee Member", this is the first step to becoming a Magnum photographer. This category of membership presents an opportunity for Magnum and the individual to get to know each other. At this stage there are no binding commitments on either side.

Special requirement

A minimum of 2 projects with up to 50 images per projects is required.

How to Apply

  1. Submit your work in minimum 2 separate projects with up to 50 images per project.

  2. State the office that you are applying to:
  • Magnum London, for photographers based in UK, Ireland, the Commonwealth, Africa, Asia and the Middle East

  • Magnum New York, for photographers based in Americas

  • Magnum Paris, for photographers based in Europe (excluding UK and Ireland)
  1. Tell us a little about yourself and the projects you have submitted.

  2. Make sure your images are jpg format with a minimum of 4000 pixels on the longest edge.
