Landskrona 2020 Festival is looking for submissions from artists, photographers and collectives addressing the overall theme of memory. This includes reflecting on the role of memory in the construction of reality as well as how the collective notion of social memory is influenced, allowing for diverse and even conflicting narratives to emerge.
In addition, several other topics within the theme will be explored - from revisiting undisputed memorials of historical events, to the current debate about the decolonisation of prevailing narratives. Also included will be concepts around the exploration of identity by using the personal archive and family histories, and the visualisation of trauma and exile memories. As well as narratives addressing how to best remember the fast-disappearing natural world, its threatened species and diminishing wildlife, and memories emanating from mythical tales and legends. This includes the deconstruction of The Architecture of Memory and concepts around this specific theme.
The open call welcomes multidisciplinary projects engaged in all types of visual representation, fictional or documentary. This includes the tools of photography, video, archive, installation, performance, intervention, digital art, code and web-platforms. We are looking for works which challenge and question established ideas of engagement.
