About the Foam Talent Call

Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam has annualy put a group of emerging photographers in a spotlight on the world stage via the Foam Talent Call. The call is one of the most prestigious international open calls for photographers between the ages of 18 and 35 and the moment for Foam to gain insight into the current state of affairs in photography around the world. Through our scouting activities in the professional field and opening up to submit work, Foam creates a clear insight into the new developments, trends and themes in contemporary photography. The editors are curious to see new work from all cultures, all points of view, and narratives from around the world.

If you think your work is ready for international recognition, being selected as a Foam Talent is a career-building opportunity. Foam’s Talent Programme is devoted to show new photography and consists of publication in Foam Magazine, participation in a travelling group exhibition and the opportunity for their work to be added to the prestigious Art Collection Deutsche Börse.

Selected artists receive

• A publication in Foam Magazine’s Talent Issue, arriving in December 2019
• Gain international exposure by participating in masterclasses, events and symposiums amongst industry professionals
• Become part of the travelling Foam Talent 2020 exhibition
• Enter a prestigious collection. As a selected artist, your work could be added to the Art Collection Deutsche Börse, one of the most important collections of international contemporary photography.
• Meet collectors and experts. Foam Magazine gives you access to an extensive network of industry professionals and collectors. It offers the opportunity to build up a repertoire of contacts and gain recognition within the photography world.

About the organization

Foam is an Amsterdam based organisation with the dedication to devote timely, focused attention to new relevant developments in contemporary photography. By scouting, following and presenting young, talented photographers and their work, Foam aims to discover and stimulate exceptional quality of upcoming artists working with the photographic medium.
