World Photo Organisation and Der Greif are teaming up for an open call, directed towards emerging, artistic photographers and artists. The opportunity is free to enter and hosted by Picter. Your submissions will be selected by Mike Trow, former image editor of the British Vogue and currently curator of the Sony World Photography Awards.

Why should I enter?

The curated selection will be displayed throughout December on the World Photography Organisation website, alongside an instagram highlight of selected projects. Five selected photographers will be interviewed and published on the World Photography Organisation website.

The Judge

Mike Trow, Picture Editor, Photographer and Consultant, UK Chair, Professional competition

Mike Trow is a commissioning Picture Editor and photographer. He began his career as a researcher and reportage agent for Colorific before roles as Picture Editor on magazines including Bizarre and Jack magazine. He was at British Vogue for 13 years, where he lead a team that commissioned, produced and art directed all portrait and feature shoots for the magazine. As a photographer he shot for Vogue and other titles. He now works as a curator, consultant, freelance editor and photographer. He is the chair of the judging panel and the curator of the 2018 & 2019 Sony World Photography Awards

Der Greif

DER GREIF is an award-winning organisation for contemporary photography. As a print publication, international online platform, and as a curatorial team, DER GREIF’s aim is to facilitate and help shape dialogues between image-makers and the images themselves. The artistic core and root of the project is our annual, ad-free print publication. The website is an exhibition-, communication-, and information platform for participants and anyone interested in contemporary photography. DER GREIF connects the digital (global) and the analogue (local), exploring and expanding the borders and limitations of image distribution and reception in a digital era.
