About

Der Greif, together with Berlin Photoweek, is interested to explore possibilities and limits of exhibiting photographic images presented in poster-form but being high quality prints. Image makers worldwide are invited to submit one image in portrait format that is visually powerful and stands out. Think about your submission in close conjunction with 25 other images from different contexts.

The selected images will be displayed during Berlin Photoweek from October 10-13 at Kraftwerk in Berlin. They will be printed in DIN A1 format as fine art prints and mounted directly on the wall. The display references the photographic image as seen and encountered daily in our cityscapes – on billboards, as well as a form of public (artistic) intervention.

We are happy to partner with The Printspace, London for the production of the show!

About Der Greif

DER GREIF is an award-winning organisation for contemporary photography. As a print publication, international online platform, and as a curatorial team, DER GREIF's aim is to facilitate and help shape dialogues between image-makers and the images themselves. The artistic core and root of the project is our annual, ad-free print publication. The website is an exhibition-, communication-, and information platform for participants and anyone interested in contemporary photography. DER GREIF connects the digital (global) and the analogue (local), exploring and expanding the borders and limitations of image distribution and reception in a digital era.
